Osu! Here I present to you Tangerine Tango’s first review subject, the lovely Miku Miku Kagami figma by Maxfactory! (click on thumbnails to see full size photos on Flickr)
This version of Kagami in Hatsune Miku cosplay is the one seen in the Lucky Star OVA — during Kagamin’s dream where Konata suddenly becomes a fairy godmother and “helps” her go into a concert where her mother and sisters went to. She actually had different costumes — including Tohsaka Rin from Fate/Stay Night and some other popular characters — but this costume proved to be the most popular among all of them — also because of the immense popularity of Hatsune Miku.
The whole set consists of the following: five pairs of hands, two faces: moe and angry, two pieces of leeks, the body and headpieces, customary stand and the ziplock bag (not shown in the photo).
I really loved Kagamin’s colors here — although her sleeve panels (the silver things on her sleeves) lack detail — save for a portion of the Lucky Star cat (the one seen on the eyecatch) on her left sleeve.
She’s very well painted compared to all the other figmas that I have. She has a very smooth finish. It was also good that her pigtail joints were the same with her hair color– so they won’t be very obvious when pictures of her are taken. She’s also my first Lucky Star figma — and so I was amused at how her hands were a bit round and childish — compared to the Haruhi figmas where their hands were slender.
For those who want to know, Kagamin’s skirt and the lower half of her top are cast-offable, and she has some pantsu on (of course). Her headphones are a part of her front hair piece — so you won’t be able to use it on other figmas.
As for detail, like I mentioned earlier — her left sleeve has part of the LS cat drawn in. Also, she has a cute tattoo of her initials on her left arm, as seen in the photo above.
I also love how they made the leeks — they look beautiful and well-painted. My mom actually saw the leeks while I was on break of taking Kagamin’s photos and she didn’t know they were from an action figure set. LOL.
As for the alternate face, it looks good and will be very nice for LULZ-y pictures. The moe face still wins by default. But I think we all know that by now.
Overall, I give Miku Miku a rating of 5/5. This is definitely a must-have for those who love collecting Figmas and Lucky Star figures! >w< now I wonder if I should get her Nendoroid too ><;
