The Philippines is known for having the longest celebration for the Christmas season. As early as September, people are playing Christmas songs, hanging up Christmas decorations and some even set up their Christmas lights and trees. Christmas is usually known for getting presents and having holidays, family reunions and massive shopping with the numerous mall-wide sales that happen during this season.
Of course, the real meaning behind Christmas, as cliche as it sounds, is the spirit of giving.
We bloggers, anime fans, gamers and figure collectors alike are pretty fortunate with what we have. Even though we do say that our wallets get empty because of our hobbies, we are fortunate enough to even have the leisure of getting into these hobbies.
So, in light of this, I invite you to share even a little of your blessings to those who are less fortunate than we are.
Fellow blogger Xine of Toypusher is currently having a fund raising event for the kids of Virlanie Foundation, Inc. until October 20, 2010. The funds that will be gathered will be used for the Halloween Party that Xine and her friends will organize.
If you have a little something extra, giving what you can would be a great help to these kids. If you don’t have that, at least spending your time to spread the word would still be a great help. You can check Xine’s blog entry for more details about the donation.
